Calm Before The Storm

This week I met up with my friend Ashley and we walked around Folsom Lake to talk and watch the sunset.  We were lucky enough to see one of the most beautiful sunsets before the rain that started yesterday.

 Since it hasn't rained in months Folsom Lake has become pretty barren.  We were able to walk out to islands in the middle of the lake that are usually under water during the summer.

Ashley had this great idea as a pose against the sunlight. It turned out great!

As we started walking back to our cars we looked up and the sun had gone down more and lit up the whole sky bright pink and purple. It was breathtaking. 

I'm looking forward to taking pictures of sunsets, and hopefully sunrises throughout the year and I'm always looking for people to join me on these adventures. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Winter Break and The New Year

With a break from school over the past few weeks I have been able to enjoy a lot more time with my family, friends, and boyfriend.  Its nice to be able to relax a little more and not have to worry about homework, papers, and exams coming up.  Also, my new year has started off great with a trip to Stinson Beach with a few of my favorite people.  Here are some pictures from the trip. 

We were both happy to have a day off of work and be at the beach together.

Everything was green it felt like spring!

The weather was perfect, sunny and 70 degrees which you wouldn't expect in winter

Gabe and I barefoot ran up the hill near a campground my family and i stay at every summer.  It may look like i'm ahead in this picture but Gabe beat me bar far once we got to the top.

We set out a big blanket and had a picnic on the beach, soaked up some sun, and played some keep away with a newly acquired football.

Gabe taught me how to fly a kite and we were able to get enough wind to fly it all the way to the end of the beach.

On our drive home we saw the most beautiful sunset.

I am hoping for more trips to the beach or other beautiful places soon before break is over.
